Today, I had a class to express a design based on the research I had done so far through illustration.
Before drawing the illustrations, I showed them illustrations drawn with various materials as examples, and I thought that everyone drew illustrations very creatively. I decided to use maca and colored pencils, but I have never drawn such a creative and unique illustration before, so it took me a long time to decide how to express it. Since I’ve always drawn only typical illustrations of walking poses, I think I focused on how to express my clothes more dynamically in this class.
Because I designed the entire outfit, I drew body illustrations, but I was very nervous about drawing after a long time. While drawing, I was frustrated at first because the lines that I wanted did not come out as I thought. I keep making changes and drawing, and the more I finish it, the more fun it is, and I was looking forward to how I would be able to express this outfit in real life. And looking at the work of other friends throughout the class, I think it was more interesting because there were a lot of works that were expressed in a variety of ways with a variety of materials. But I definitely think that fashion illustration is not enough to show the details of clothes.
And I haven’t been able to complete the illustration in today’s class because I haven’t decided on the exact details and colors of my design yet. It’s something I always feel while taking the Toolbox class, but I think it’s necessary to speed up the work a bit.
Nevertheless, drawing illustrations is one of my favorite workings. So, it makes me very happy during the class and very helpful to me see various types of illustrations.
