Toolbox Session 9

Today, I worked with the products I made, styling and taking photoshoots. I asked my groupmate, harry, to be a model, and I thought I could do the photos, styling, and hair, so I did it myself. I decided on the concept of my photoshoot as a gang and took inspiration from my favorite Korean hip-hop music video. I explained to Harry the feeling and direction I wanted, and Harry posed for me the way I wanted. Because the clothes I designed are street-style clothes, I thought that they fit the mood of a gangster, and I used a lot of props such as motorcycles or ladders to take pictures. In particular, when asking for a pose or looking for a background for a photo, I kept thinking of my client and muse, Oren, and all my photos seem to be his favorite.

The results of the photos were very satisfactory. My model gave me the look I wanted, and I think I took the best picture I could in a short amount of time. Also, since I designed the overall outfit, I tried to show off the details of my designs from different angles. I took pictures, and I think these things made the small details of my clothes come alive.

When I had to edit the photos after taking them, I was confident in Photoshop editing, so I think I finished editing my photos satisfactorily as I had envisioned.

If I can summarize what I did well today, it was a more satisfactory result than I expected in a short time.

But on the other hand, there were some things that didn’t go well. I thought about the mood of my photoshoot, but I didn’t really think about what kind of pose I wanted the model to take. So, looking at my photos, all the poses feel plain and boring. If I had a chance to take a photoshoot again, I think I would think about the pose again before anything else. In my opinion, if there were more dynamic poses, a much nicer photoshoot would have come out.
